On July 23, 2026, in the Ashtarak community of Aragatsotn region, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia and the CARD Foundation jointly organized a working meeting-discussion with the participation of veterinarians and epidemiologists, dedicated to expanding the digitalization functions of the Animal Identification and Registration (AIR) system.
The main goal of the meeting was to present the upcoming directions of the system's development, in particular, the new tools being developed for the digitalization of veterinary services in the ANI PAS system, including the processes of animal vaccination and blood sampling, as well as to listen to the opinions and suggestions of veterinarians and epidemiologists directly involved in their implementation.
This program is being developed and separate operational environments (dashboards) are being created for different stakeholders: farmers, veterinarians, epidemiologists, “Center for Agricultural Services” SNCO of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia. Each stakeholder will have access to only the items and relevant tools and data, ensuring the simplification and effective organization of work processes. The system design should be simple and intuitive, based on the principle of ease of use, with minimal data entry operations, without unnecessary information, so that the need arises, ensuring fast and efficient work.
It will not only improve the AIR, but also simplify the work of veterinarians and epidemiologists and the administrative burden, saving and increasing the efficiency of the work being carried out.
During the meeting, the participants were presented with new solutions planned for the effective development of the AIR system, discussed the practical aspects of their application, and collected the suggestions and observations of specialists.. The discussions provided an opportunity to assess the preparedness and attitude of specialists in the field towards the digitalization process, identify existing challenges and take them into account in the further stages of system development.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached that after the development of the new tools, a pilot program will be implemented in a pre-selected region. The pilot phase will be implemented with the active participation of all stakeholders, in particular, with the involvement of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, the Centre for Agricultural Services SNCO, the CARD Foundation, veterinarians, epidemiologists and representatives of farmers. Within the framework of the program, the participants will test the new tools of the AIR system on site, assess their applicability and effectiveness, and also present proposals for further improvement of the AIR system.
The pilot component of the digitalization of the AIR system will create a basis for the phased introduction of the system, providing an opportunity to assess the effectiveness of the developed solutions in real conditions and subsequently ensure their gradual expansion and application in other regions of the republic.
