Օn July 16, 2026, a preparatory discussion was held at the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, headed by the Deputy Minister of Economy, Mrs. Tatevik Sargsyan, ahead of the upcoming meeting of the Working Group on Animal Identification and Registration (AIR). The discussion was attended by the Director of the Republican Veterinary-Sanitary and Phytosanitary Laboratory Services Center (RVSPCLS) SNCO, Mr. Arman Gevorgyan, Head of the Veterinary Department of the Food Safety Inspection Body (FSIB) Mr. Arman Asatryan, and specialists in relevant fields.
Representatives of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, the "Center for Agricultural Services " SNCO, the "ANI PAS" system, and the CARD Foundation were also present at the meeting.
The main objective of the meeting was to discuss with the RVSPCLS and the FSIB of the Republic of Armenia the digitalization needs related to the Animal Identification and Registration (AIR) system within the scope of their respective responsibilities, as well as the proposed improvements and new functionalities to be incorporated into the system. The participants presented the challenges they encounter in their day-to-day work, discussed possible solutions, and put forward recommendations aimed at making the system more efficient, user-friendly, and easier to operate.
During the discussion, special attention was paid to improving data exchange, control, and accountability processes, as well as the possibilities for developing new digital tools that will contribute to increasing the efficiency of the system.
The suggestions and observations collected during the meeting will be summarized and presented in a comprehensive manner to the AIR working group at the upcoming meeting in order to jointly discuss and define the directions for the phased introduction of the system.
